What can be said about the Glock 30? Is it as good as my Model 21? How accurate and how controlable?
:2guns:
I can't compare the 30 to the 21, but I did have a 19. I find the 30 harder to control than the 19.
Is it as good as a 21? Sure, just smaller. Accuracy and controlability are entirely dependent on you. The gun will do its job if you do yours but you have to do your job better with a smaller gun. You have a much shorter sight plane and less weight but the bullet still goes where you had it pointed at instant of ignition.
I know many experienced bullseye shooters that can take a snub nosed J-frame S&W and outshoot 95% of the people with 6 inch revolvers because they do their part exceptionally well and a quality gun does its part. The 30 is a quality gun.
It's great if ya need something small but unless you are a small person... it's not as comfy as the 21. I am 5'9" and i don't have big hands. It's almost too small. a grip extension would be in order. Other than that, it's great -- quite accurate for its size too!

Glock 30-
I owned one of these and I'll give you my experiece with it. The good very, very accurate ( as good as my Kimber's 1 1/2" groups using 230grn. factory loads) and very managable recoil due to the double spring system. The 30 will except the 21's magazine wich is great for a spare. I like the compact design with 10rnd.s- Now the bad: Trigger guard rubbed middle finger, alot of weight for it's compactness which made me feel off balance when I wore it outside the pant, it is suppose to hold 10 rounds in the mag and one in the barrel-good luck! Many people encountered the same problem,if you manage to get the tenth round in the mag and force it in the weapon try to pull the slide back! There is so much pressure from the tenth round against the underside of the slide it's a B**TH to pull it back. I use to load 9 in the mag and one in the chamber (worked fine this way).
I only got rid of my 30 to finance another preferred carry (1911) not saying one is better than the other. I happen to prefer the slim design and is what I used in the military. ;)
