I have the greatest cat in the world. She guards my T3 Tactical when I am not out in the dark night hunting coyotes. Now if I could only get here to fetch my slippers....
Harris long bi-pod, Yukon Mini-Opsrey Night Vision Scope, the rest is stock out of the box. This is a great shooting rifle. I've bagged many a coyote with it.
Superb MOA out of the box...

:o
your grey cat is almost as big as your grey fox.
how would you rate the yukon? i have to use scopes for day, don't know what i could see at night in green. does the target appear sharp/focused, can you use it to search/spotting with?
Wow! Tikka T3 Tactical are EXTREMELY RARE, I looked for them for the longest time and no one can get them....beautiful!!!
The Yukon Mini Osprey Titanium Gen1+ was an affordable way for me to get a night vision scope without breaking the bank, but I have to tell you, the focus quality is not good. You can definately see what you are looking at at close range, but the corners distort and the magnification is poor. I paid $600 for it. If I had added another one or two thousand to the price, the quality and magnifcation would have increased dramatically.
All in all, a fun scope and for coyote hunting or boar hunting at night, a great tool if you are dealing with a creature under 50 yards.
Another issue: The infra red spot beam is wonderful for identifying animals in your sites. Their eyes glow like diamonds, but unless they are within that 50 yard range and move in a way you can silloutte them for identification, all you see is two eyes and a blob. Is it a cat? Is it a dog? An alien? A coyote? I can see where someone who is trigger happy might take down all sorts of animals by mistake because the scope just doesn't give enough detail.
If I stick with night shooting, I might just go out and get a gen3, but I want to try one out first to compare...
Hope this helps.
I was concerned about being able to find it. Mr. Jimmy Bennett at Georgia Wilderness Outfitters ordered it for me on a Tuesday and I had it that Thursday. I know he is a Beretta dealer, so that might be the difference.
I paid $1160 for the gun, no accessories. Scopes, sling, case, bipod, were all extra. I have about $2300.00 for everything including two scopes.
Call Jimmy, he might be able to tell you where to find one.

Swill 269,
Yeah, Mango-Cat is almost as fat as Munchie-Cat (the one who got eaten) is. I have finally got my wife to stop de-clawing them. Mango is a little over a year and a great hunter. She brings me "gifts" in the way of mice, rats, birds and squirrels all the time. She is a little over a year and around 12 pounds. Munchie was 14 pounds and declawed. He didn't have a chance and I didn't know the kids had let him out.
A real shame. My daugher was devistated. Which is why I became interested in rifle hunting again. My wife will say I was looking for an excuse to get the Tikka...
She was right!
Deer season is in as of today... I've hung up the bow so I can go out varmint hunting with my friends intead. The Tikka at least makes me look like I know what I am doing!
:cannon:
Cheers!

Kravman4,
Thanks! Like I said, that gun makes me look like I know what I am doing...
Jon
I just held one at the Police Convention in Los Angeles.... Wow! that is one supper light sniper rifle... compared to the TRG22, FN SPR, and Rem LTR.. it's the lightest sniper rifle I ever held... The salesman said the recoil on the 308 with compensator is that of a 223. I cant imagine shooting that thing without a comp specially in 308.... very nice
