Here's where you can post your favorite loads for your rifles. Handloads or factory loads, it's all good; we wanna see 'em.

For my Ruger m77/22, I have three favorite loads: CCI CB shorts, Aquila SSS, and CCI Velocitar.

I use the subs for shooting rabbits in my backyard, both loads are accurate enough out to 50 yds (with the Aguila going a good distance farther than that).

The CCI Velocitar are my all-time favorite hunting rounds. Talk about take-down power with a .22! I was shooting water-filled cans next to a friend who was shooting a .22 mag, and the .22 Velocitars tore up the cans almost as well as the .22 mag. Very impressive!

Hi kravman4. This is a great fourm you have here. I see some old friends.

I have a New Savage 10FP in .308 Win. I have Serria 168 MatchKing, Winchester Brass, and Federal Match primers. Will try Win 748, and IMR 4064 powder.

I need to order a neck sizer die, and caliper seating die. Hope to cook up some awsome loads. :D

Thanks Cajungeo! :D You say you just got a Savage 10fp? Now that's a weapon that lends itself to handloads. B) They're real tackdrivers from what I've heard. Are you going to put a muzzle brake on it? I've shot a .308 with a screw-on muzzle brake: once with the brake on and once with the brake off. Made a world of difference.

As for handloading for the .308, I don't know much except that a friend of mine has a Rem. 700 in .308 and for blowing up cans and fruit, he uses TNT points...now that's fun!

Tailgunner, sounds like you've got a sweet setup. How I wish I could shoot 3" groups at 600 yards...

45/70, W/W brass, cci mag lrg rfl primer, 53 gr hogdon 4198, topped off with a barnes 250 gr solid copper hollow point, seated .05 " from the rifling lands. this is a max, max load for 45/70. it makes a little over 2700 fps from a 24 ", 1:20 twist barrel (h&r buffalo classic). :cannon: i load down to 50 gr H 4198 for my 45/70 bolt gun ( 21" bbl lee enfield/navy arms conversion).

Your welcome to come up and try it for yourself.

Another of my favorates is 95Gr of H4831sc behind a 400gr partition. Makes a nice plinking round. Book max is 99gr (real max is around 110gr), but I find the recoil kinda brutal once I go past 96gr. Oh ya, that's from a CZ Mauser in 416 Rigby.

Shaking his head at all the "308Win kicks so hard" comments heard on other threads.

Well I only load 22-250 right now and my favorite load is with a Combined Technologies 55 grain moly coated balistic tip with 38 grains of IMR 4320 behind it (book max is 35.5 grain of powder, so this is a hot load :D . I used to load them with 39 grains of powder, but discovered that I got the same velocity with 38 grains. The extra powder just ended up as muzzle blast. Average velocity is slightly over 3900 fps. Just a word of warning DO NOT load more then 39 grains of powder, bad things tend to happen when you do that. :(
