Series 3 Shooting Contest - IRON SIGHT CLASS

First let me apologize for being late acknowledging the Series 2 Champs, and for being late posting Series 3. Ok summer is over and this is the last Series for 2004. Hopefully we will have more participants this series.

This will be fun. This Series will test your marksmanship, as well as your rifle, scope, and ammo.

Rules for IRON SIGHT CLASS

If you don't have Adobe pdf. get a free copy here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html
1. Official target PDF form. Please be patient. You can use either target:
http://www.targetz.com/targetz-lib/20041.pdf
http://www.targetz.com/targetz-lib/20042.pdf
2. 10 shots per target. Bull counts as 30 points. Only shots in the inner ring will count. Shot touching a line will count as the higher score. All shots count face value. 300 points possible.
3. Range 25 yds.
4. Shoot using Rests, sand bags, hood of your truck, or anyway you like. :D
5. To save computer space please post 1 target per shooter. As in the Gallery the Shooter will own that thread. 1 thread only per member please. You can edit or upgrade your target, and repost with a better score on your thread only.
6. Please write on target Score, Date, and Distance/Class
7. PERFECT UNION members only. For family members or friends to enter, they must first register, and become members. (They don't have to be the owner of rifle)
8. I will verify target, i.e. highest score, or in event of a tie, the tightest group. The shooter of the highest will be named "PERFECT UNION 10/22 SHOOTING CHAMPION of SERIES 2 - IRON SIGHT CLASS"
9. Each series the title is up for grabs, as long as the interest is there.
10. 10/22's 10/22 WMR compete on even terms, no other rifles please. There is no limit on the mods done to the rifle, except barrel must be standard Ruger, and sights must be mechanical.
11. I reserve the right to change the rules as needed.
12. Gentlemen, and Ladies, this is on your honor. Good luck, and good shooting.

This will be fun, so get some targets, and head for the range.

Is this to be shot offhand or from the bench ? Any position? And thanks for setting these contests up. Your hard work and time is appreciated.

Hey Champ. You can shoot any way you like. I will add that to the rules.

Thanks for the kind words Metaldoc. I've been working on an M-1 sight for my Mini and working on a how-to for the Mini Tips & Tricks section. Had to shoot in the rain today. The targets would melt had to dry them with a hair dryer. We got the data we needed though.

Hey Cajungeo,
I printed off the second target, that is black and white. The rules say that only shots in the inner ring will count (as 30 points I assume). Does that mean that the bullet hole has to at least touch the white part of the inner ring, or touch the black ring which is around the white bull, or be completely inside the white bull without touching the black ring?

This looks like a lot of fun, and am anxious to take this target out to the range.

Thanks!

Yes to hit the bull you must at least nick the white bull for 30 pts. The inner ring I'm talking about is the inner 3 3/4" part of the target. All rounds in or touching this area will count. Those that don't, won't count. I'm going to use my folder for this class.

OK, thanks for the clarification. I will take this target out to the range tomorrow, and see what I can do. I will post a pic of my results. Yeah, this should be really fun.
