Has Anyone tried

I'm thinking about trying some 450 gr+,something with a little better BC than the standard old 405gr for the springfield factory loads,and not the lightweight 300-350 gr as they don,t group in my particular rifle.Want to find out if anyone else here has experimented with heavies that will still function through a tubular magazine(safely). :blink: :sniper:

I have yet to cross off a Marlin 1895GS 45/70 of my wish list so I can't help. Although you could try Leverguns.com (http://www.leverguns.com/) forums. It's seems like every member there owns a 45/70 lever.
