how do i know what rings i have?

i have some rings on my rem 700 .308. i need to know ,so that i can get some shims, because the scope is WAAAY off. i put one of those boresighters on the end of the barell, and the x-hairs are off the grid.it is too much for the adjustments to correct. where can i find shims?

I made mine out of an old feeler gauge. ;)

I don't know what type of rings you have on your rifle, but if you had Burris Signature rings, they have plastic inserts, that can be replaced with a Burris concentric kit. They are concentric inserts, that correct scope/mount errors or for long range when you need more elevation adj.
