hi all,

I have a WWI era .45 and I don't like the thin front sight or its corresponding rear notch. I love this gun, but the sights are a pain, especially when I shoot my sig 229 first.

The question is: Is there a company that sells 1911 slides? Even the A1 models seem a bit thin. It would be nice to get something more like my 229.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

You know, you don't have to replace the whole slide if you don't like the issue sights. You can replace just the sights. Check Brownell's for replacement sights and a front sight staking tool.

I would rather get a new slide with better sights than alter the existing "original slide."
I tried numrich gunparts, but the slides they have, have the same sights as what I have already.

I'm almost tempted to buy a Springfield GI model, just to have a better shooter, But I'd rather not spend 500 when a new slide will do just fine.
