Let's see what action is most popular among the bolt-rifle users on this forum!

Here's the situation - You've been given a $5000 credit at your local gun store. The only stipulation is that the money be used to build a bolt-gun. What action would you choose?

P.S. If you see an error, technical or typographical, let me know. If you want another action added, drop me a note and I'll see what I can do. TIA

I would build one on the Howa 1500 action. These are available as barreled actions and modify well. Just my two cents......

Yah, I realize that. This was kind of a tough poll to word. I originally intended to include just the Mauser and the Rem 700, decided to include some variances on those actions.

I like the trigger system in the BDL. My 270 has filled the freezer quite a few times. Also have a 308 VLS. I'll get some pics this weekend.

B) Ruger 77.It is a modern Mauser.Positive claw extraction, controlled round feeding, intergral scope bases(Remington has none ot these),1 piece bolt(Remington is 3 pieces welded together).4 scope rings screws.Flat bottom reciever provides a much better bed.3 locking lugs(bolt handle).Again, its a modern Mauser...Improved.With all that written,I still like & own Remingtons too. :sniper:
