I'd like to conduct a poll concerning what action you would use were you to build a custom bolt rifle. Here are the choices I've thought of so far...

Remington 700
Mauser

And to tell you the truth...I can't think of what else to include! I'd call it a senior moment, but I'm not that old! Well, not that old...

I would say, anything with a mauser style claw extracting system.- (Winchester M70). But You are right, IT seems to be a Rem 700, Mauser, or some type of clone. <_<

Well for the dedecated and discriminating accuracy nut (I'm not one, discriminanting that is), you have the BAT, Nosekia, Hall etc actions to choose from. Or for the "no one around here has one" custom look there's those M-70 clones from places like MRC. And for those with no taste, there's Ruger and Salvage actions to choose from (that ought to raise some dust :D ).

Consider the dust raised !   I happen to like the Ruger M77. But then I have to admit I'm not known to be very discriminating either. :D

Lol, I own an m77 also and am very attached to it!

I have to admit though, I thought the m77 and Savage actions were mauser based?

I probably won't include some of the more discreet actions, but for the more popular ones, (i.e. ruger, savage) I'll include 'em. Thanks for the input. :D :sniper:

THough I have custom Rem 700 guns, I really like double set triggers. Unfortunately a double set trigger for Rem 700 cost around $450, a mauser action would be better with the cost in the $150 range. I probably go with the mauser.

What is the opinion on the Weathrby Mark V action? Just wondering, as i haven't heard much about weatherbys so far. they seem to be fine weapons(they are priced well enough <_< ). Aside from that, the M70(simply because of the claw) or M700.
