I just bought an izhmash .22 (sm-2). I haven't gotten out in the field with it yet, but I found the factory slip that came with it (underneth quite a few things). "benchrest @ 50m firing 10 shots this rifle made a 20mm group". Lets see... 1 moa=0.5235 @ 50 yards, 20mm= 0.787 inches so i guess i have about a .8 moa rifle? I want to know if i messed this up, and is a .8 moa rifle with an adjustable target stock and hammered bull barrel worth the 400 bucks I paid? (ofcorse at the store the guy said it was a tack driver <_< ) I am good with guns but im an idiot when browsing the gun market

You have to realize that the target shooters for the factory are turning out a lot of rifles. They don't really care if they get a good group they just want to get on to the next rifle.
Have fun.
Don't take a factory test target as indicative of accuracy. Try different ammo, learn the sights or install a good scope - and above all, "shoot that thang"!
I bought a .22 Hornet BRNO a few years back - the factory test target had three shots - two nearly touching, and the third was a wild flyer. This rifle shoots 5/8" at 100 yards , with top-quality ammo.
The factory just wants to make sure it works.

"1 moa=0.5235 @ 50 yards, 20mm= 0.787 inches.......about a .8 moa rifle?"
More like a 1.5MOA rifle, with the ammo the factory uses.
Try different brands and types of ammo to find what it likes best.

I always have about 10 different types of 22 ammo around for the purpose of finding out what works best in the next 22 I buy. That said try differnt stuff till you get it right. Its fun and relatively inexpensive. Also it allows you to go int gun stores and make a purchase even though small and not feel like a lookie loo. Out here in CA they seem to like a person who buys something then asks questions.
