I finally got a chance to get out on my range after machining my own clamps and making (copying) Kkina's rigidity strut. BTW, thanks Kkina, your idea cut my groups in half and made different ammos more consistent to the same POA.

This target is the second one I shot. The first I was holding too low and only got half the hits on target. So I scolded myself and tried again with better results. Now I just need to tighten up the groups.

I did stand on my hind legs, wobbling like a giraffe, but had fun. This was a great idea Cajun..... much more realistic and very enjoyable.

Thats a nice group Metaldoc esp for rapid fire. I see 9 holes, am I missing one?

Thanks Cajun,

The hole closest to the center looks like two hits overlapping. Anyway, it is pretty distinct on the actual target.

I guess this is rapid fire although it isn't the same as seeing how fast you can pull the trigger. I practice counting to myself and get a mental cadence going. Then I try to transfer that rythym to my shooting. As I bring the rifle back on target each time, I keep the motion the same and as the sight picture comes back on target I squeeze off another round. The thing that works for me is consistency.... doing the same thing the same way everytime.

Years back I did a lot of trapshooting and getting zoned out and into a rythym was extremely important for consistent high scores.

I forgot to mention I was using Lake City M193 ammo. That seems to be what my mini likes best so far and I don't reload.

Glad the strut worked out for you, Metaldoc. Just curious, does your Mini also have a muzzle brake or flash hider?

Hi Kkina, yes, I have an M14 style flash hider. Its about 3" long. I'm not sure who made it, found it on eBay but I sure like it. I'll try to get a picture on here soon showing it and my version of your great rigidity strut idea.

Congratulations Metaldoc. You fired a perfect score, and you are among a group of Champion shooters this series. This was a tough contest and shooting a perfect score proves you are Series 2 Mini-14 Shooting Champ.

There must be something to your rythem. Please update your Signature to reflect your accomplishment.
