I'm looking at the John Masen muzzle brake that slips on around the front site.
Has anybody tried it?
Does it work OK?
I'd like to keep the original front site.

I like mine, and it didn't cost much either. The only reason I have it is it cut my group size in half. :D
I got the stainless one, and after I rubbed in some gun oil, it matched the mini's stainless finish. It is a matt stainless.

I like mine. I didn't want to remove my front sight; this unit slides over the existing sight and comes with a new, longer pin.
Mine fit right and installed in five minutes. It reduced my group size by aprox. one inch (from 4-5 to 3-4?).
For $20 I'm very happy with it. Not to mention, it looks very cool and sounds good. I like how the Masen unit has what looks like an M16 flash hider on the end of the muzzle brake holes- sweet. B)

After reading about these John Masen muzzle brakes for years, I finally ordered one. Should get it in a few days. I will let y'all know if it works for me. My Pre Ban Ranch Rifle has always shot well, two inches at 100 yards, with a Redfield 2 X 7 scope. A little more accuracy would be fine with me.

Thanks for the replies.
Mine showed up Monday.
The pin is missing. :(
I called Masen and a pin is on the way.
I've had a Ramline mb on there, but it only weighs a couple of ounces.
The ad at Midway says it is steel, but it's not magnetic.
So, the Masen is heavy and magnetic. I'm hoping for a little better performance with it.
I'll let you know.

When I got my Masen brake from Midway, the pin that came with it was so small it dropped thru the hole! I had to go over to Lowe's to get a 1/8" roll pin as that is the correct diameter. I had to cut about 3/16" off the length of the pin to make it fit flush but wasn't a big deal to do.
It's a great addition to the Mini and really does help to cut the group sizes down.
