I shot my series 2 target today. 50 yards, kneeling, scoped. Offhand is a little harder to control recoil with than kneeling. I took five careful shots instead of ten quick ones in ten seconds. All landed in the middle! Now, nobody has to worry about terrorists with sharpshooter Dan in the vicinity. I won't be able to scan it into the computer until Monday...

Hey militia_of_one. That's a good way to practice. Slow at first. Later up to speed. I agree the Off-hand is the toughest.

I'm getting treatment for my dislocated shoulder. It is slow progress. Glad the series will last 2 1/2 mo. It will give me time to get back up to speed.

I recently tried some 45 grain ammo instead of 55 grain, and my bench groups closed to 1.25" at 50 yards, down from 2". I want to try 40 gr. ammo too, but it's too expensive.

Just a suggestion, if you back up your target on the scanner with colored paper the holes will show up better.

Ok, I'll try that next time.

militia_of_one even though we were to fire 10 rounds, you have proven to be very clever by firing 5 within the alloted time. Each was a hit. You have proven the old addage, "Make each shot count". You have proven yourself to be the Series 2 Mini-14 Shooting Champ - Scope Class. Please update your Signature to reflect your achievement.
