Heh.. someone's got to be first huh?
Shot two targets.. Walked back to the house...readjusted sights and modified the muzzle brake slightly to keep it centered instead of having to pull back to the left after each shot (I had just finished shortening the 1:9 twist barrel to 16.5" and re-crowned)..then I went back and shot two more targets. No cooling between..just shoot-em-up! -- This is the second target. Fortunately we have time to improve--but this bad guy would definitely be going out horizontal :)

By the way... The date I put on that target is wrong --actually it was today (July 10th)
A comment or two for the crew.. This is a bit closer to testing us to see if we can properly do that which this gun is designed for...quick, offhand shooting. Kudos for your choice as opposed to more Bench Rest type shooting!
A couple suggestions if I may..
...a real full size standard sillouette target in the future maybe? This target is a good one--and if you can "kill" this one - you definitely could tear up a life size model-- but actually it's way small compared to real life. Almost if not completely, the entire 8 1/2 by 11 target would actually fit into a real kill-zone :)
For future consideration...I would love to see a multi-target shoot as part of this contest ... Using real sillouette targets .. 4 different targets -- 2 or 3 rounds on each--with one or more required mag change(s) in the set..? Heck..throw in varying heights and maybe distances too :D :o :D I'm going to try to setup something like that "up in the back" where I do most of my shooting -- Just gotta find a few more steel plates to hang for targets ;)
Thanks for running these contests! -- Just what I needed--another excuse to shoot just about every day

Thats amazingly good shooting esp in the allowed 10 seconds.
I try to use targets that everyone can use. Larger than 8 1/2 x 11 most couldn't download on the printer, or use a scanner to download to computer. This was as close as I could get.

Thanks Friend,
I try to shoot several times a week--even if it's only to rip off a couple 30 rounders or a 40 :), Normally it's at something fun like filled and capped bottles or full cans of soda  I go to the state Game Lands range once and a while but it's a 3 round in your gun rule there (in PA) with fines up to $100 per extra cartridge in your mag if they wanna push the issue. Can you say *OUCH*..?
Imagine getting caught with a 40 in your gun!!..that would be $3700 in fines!!!
Instead of dealing with that, unless I'm shooting benchrest with my 308 varmint rig or something else that needs a bench (like dialing in a scope or sights) I'm mostly just shooting targets back up a couple hundred yards from the house. There's about 100 acres of bottom land that backs up against a ridge --back in the woods where nobody complains if I rip off a hundred rounds or so :D . That's the only place I get a chance to play with my mini and 10/22's with the high cap mags.
BTW...if you have a 10/22 and have never dumped a 30 or 50 round clip with that crank called "The Activator"..then you just ain't livin! 4 shots per crank and you can dump a good feeding 30 rounder in a matter of a couple seconds  :o  I've had one for over 10 years now and it's put a smile on more than a few faces! I tried it on the mini and it gets about 5 to 10 shots before it vibrates off...LOL! Still a rush though!
Excelent. Wish we could all have axcess to a combat style range but it's harder and harder just to find a place that will let any rapid fire happen at all. We used to go up around Decatur TX. on the National Grasslands and set up combat courses in the dry washes. We'd park where the road crossed one and one go up one side and one up the other. We set up man targets at good ambush places, same number on each side and then switch sides and run the other mans course. Do 2rnds per target or three........ and the man that set up the course would be behind you so when you missed one of his "bad guys" he could fire into the ground off to the side of the wash and make it a little more tense... had a lot of fun back then.
