i have visions like a big radio station or telephone central office. do you need more than a PC. what kind of regulations are required.
i'm not interested in starting one, i already spend all my time here. (you can tell by the time of the posts, it's 24x7.) i know what kind of monitoring or policing you have to do, but is there more?
There is nothing regulating this type of "media".
You can get started by renting space on a server (web hosting), or renting a server (dedicated hosting).
In this case, I helped a buddy build and maintain his server that he has at an ISP (colocation), and for that help I get space to run my board.
This server is also running pirate4x4.com, go check it out.

my electronics back ground is primarily analog. the digital environment is overwhelming sometimes.
you do not have any guidelines to adhere to or requirements to fulfill?
thanks for the tip on the pirate4x4, i'm headed there now.

oh, another nice manly site. i like it, i don't 4w anymore but i do off road and bench race whenever i can. i like making and talking about V8 power!
i am trying to sell a dragster now to finance something different. a little quad runner might be fun.
i use an 87 buick wagon with 9.50 X 30 X 15 BF long trails all around, posi-trac, 2" lift and a little honda xr80 i strap on the back bumper. i can get a long way on land but 2' of water will stop me dead.
thanks for the invite, i'm sure i can entertain myself between the two sites. is the 4x4 site of the same tempo or atmosphere as it's sibling? i would think yes, being of the same parent.
