Thanks for all the pages and stickies. I'm pretty happy with the trigger now. I can't make any accuracy claim yet. I've only fired it to break in the barrel--and that with a POS scope. Hopefully, I can hit the range tomorrow.

Odessey Stock--very left friendly
Adams and Bennet 18" Stainless
Clark trigger bits--very happy with those
VQ extractor, release, and comp (might get rid of it)
BSA Mil Dot scope

Very nice> I love those Odessey Stock. How do you like that barrel. Have been seeing more and more of them around. Be sure to let us know how it shoots.

Coyote,

Just came back from the range, and so far, I like the barrel. I'll have to measure and post more later, but it appears that if I do my job, it will keep them around 5/8" *edge-to-edge* at 50yds. Have one five shot group that is under 1/2" inch edge-to-edge. A couple of 10 round strings that are probably just a smidge over the magic 1/2" C-to-C if you take out the flier. (Might need some bolt work) So, I'm liking it so far!!! :) All I have ot measure with is a stupid grade school ruler--can't find my drafting ruler.

Wish I could have shot more, but the wind and bugs picked up and chased me off.

Looks like its going to like Wolf best--it HATES Rem after the barrel swap.

I absolutely LOVE the Odessey. I have a HUGE cant in my off hand stance that I can fix with the rotating butt. Most comfy stock I've ever shot standing. Now, if I could just get good at off-hand shooting...... :D

If your having flyer's and would like to have a bolt that is just super - send your Ruger 10/22 L.R. bolts into Randy at CPC and have it completely reworked. He does a great job. It runs $45 + $5 shipping = $50. If you want to keep shooting as I did - you can buy a bolt (new) from him and then send your other one in for a spare or another weapon. The cost is $75 + $5 = $80. You will not be sorry.

Cajun, Coyote:

Thanks for the words, I've decided I'm happy. Still think I'm going to give CPC a shout out for a new bolt.

Here's a target. Keep in mind, I've only been shooting seriously again for a few months--finally escaped the Peoples Republik of Maryland. Some of the poor shooting is my fault because the wind picked up, and I'm not good at compensating yet.

Here's the first target--5 rnds of Wolf MT at 50yds. I'm happy with the one on the right. (In way of reference, the square bull is 9/16". I print these targets four to a page.

Here's another.

5 rnds on left--not so happy with my shooting there, 10 rounds on right with a pesky flier--that one I'm almost sure wasn't me. Usually, when I goof one up, I know it as it's on the way. When that one hit, I was thinking WTF!

Anyway, thanks again for the help. I never would've tried any of the trigger upgrades without the help I found here--they make a HUGE difference. :D

Those targets looks pretty good to me. I have yet to test my 10/22 yes. I have been told that the CPC bolt gets rid of the fly-er. We will see. If it works well - I have my wifes already boxed and ready to be shipped. I kinda of lost interest in the 10/22 when I got my 17HMR. But because of the cost of the ammo - 50 rounds vs. 500 rounds for the same price.....I will get back into the 10/22 game.
Good luck all.....got to get sighted in so I can shoot some of those flies cajungeo captured and pasted on the paper for us...... ;)

You will be happy with CPC's work. I tried to copy his bolt work. The headspacing really works. Ask Randy for the firing pin hold down mod when you send your bolt in. This will get rid of your fliers.
