I own a Glock G23 and a Walther P22. I need to de-gunk and completely degrease them both prior to properly re-lubing them. Are Birchwood Casey - Gun Scrubber, Break Free - Powder Blast and Gumout - Carb & Choke Cleaner safe to use on polymer. Neither Glock nor Walther has replied to this same question I put to them.
Your experiences with these degreasers will be greatly appreciated. :2guns:

I have used Brake Parts Cleaner with good results even on the 'plastic guns'.

i use BPC on just about all my weapons. you will have to sample it on your weapons to see if i will not melt your poly. however a toothbrush, hot water and dishwashing liquid will do as good a job as anything else on the grease. most any bore cleaner will do a good job. you can't hardly go wrong with anything which is made for weapons specifically.

Plastic!? Lol. We can't say the bad "p" word on here. Polymer handguns can be cleaned with it, I think. Does it say on the label of the can? It seems like with a Glock that there was only of cleaner you could use. WAIT! I remember on the glock torture test, the totally degreased one and fired it. They used that Gun Scrubber. Birchwood Casey make that? I think. That oughta do it.

I found the best way to clean the "gunk out of my Glock is to field strip it and just take the grip and dunk it in a sink filled with hot water and Dawn. Clean the metal slide with solvent and the usuall manner. I have used that Gun Scrubber on trigger group plastics before and I guarantee that the polymer frame of a Glock is stronger and better made than that.

I like Superclean for a degreaser, it rinses well with water, use a blowdryer to dry off the parts then regrease or oil.

I found that by using Simple Green it will take off all the accumilated dirt on a pistol or rifle with little or no srubbing, then wash off with warm waterand that's it. I got the idea from the AGI Mini-14 video. The stuuf cleans great.

Brake Cleaner has worked really well for me, and no adverse effects on the hard parts, you dont want to spray any rubber parts, like grips with it..
