Not too bad, not too bad.
Ruger added all kinds of pc junk like a loaded chamber indicator, magazine safety and internal lock. Most of the redesign was to add this? No more rugers for me.
Well, it is better, but still just ugly as a warthog! :D

Yea and probaly just as tough too!! :D
Had mine for a couple of weeks now and here are my thought on it. BTW, I ordered the KP345PR, the one with the rail, as it will be taking over nightstand duty from my CZ 75 P-01.
Accuracy is very good with felt recoil no more than my P97.
Trigger pull is a bit nicer than the P97. The mag disconnect does not affect the trigger pull at all, since it works with the firing pin block.
Much slimmer than the P97. Fits my hand better. Non slip grip.
Uses the same mags as the P97.
Digested all types of cartridges from silvertips, gold dots, JHP reloads and standard ball.
All in all, it's a keeper.

All the Rugers I have ever had did everything they were suppose to, and did it very well! they were not picky about what I fed them as well.. for the money it is hard to find a better gun..

I had a chance to try a P345 and was very impressed with it. The grip fit my hand very well and seemed to be very accurate. The only version right now appears to be the manual safety model and that is fine with me. My P89 is a manual safety and I'm used to it so the P345 would fit right in in terms of operation.
The added "features" didn't bother me at all. I think we are going to be seeing more of these features in other brands as states pass laws requiring them and Ruger is just installing them early on. I have an internal lock and loaded indicator on my SA 1911 and I never use the lock or look at the indicator.
Hopefully, somebody will come out with night sights and adjustable rear sights soon. That woul really make this a great pistol.
I would think that Ruger did build in the strength and toughness that Rugrs are famous for so this should be a well-received pistol by the Ruger followers. My local shop has them for $416.

How does the Trigger stack up against the P97? I was going to get one but tried the Paraordance 14/45 LDA which blew the Ruger away. It was smoother in double action then the Ruger in single action with a much shorter trigger stroke.
I bought the 14/45. Plus 10 round mags.

I think George is right. We'll be seeing more P.C. stuff in the future because of our countries fail legal system! I'm happy to hear the mag disconnect does'nt affect trigger pull. I have a Steyr S-9 with the lock.
I kinda figured with the old man passed on now that Ruger would offer a small autoloader for the C.C.W. market.
I guess their keeping their share holders happy with profits in the Golf club and titanium relacement joint market. When I get a new right knee I'll have to see what Ruger offers.

Thank the Lord they are still making the P90!
At least it does not have that dumb lock that the
pistol has. I look for that to get somebody killed.
KISS, DUMMIES!

Any pistol can get you killed if you don't practice with it and maintain it properly.
If you're that afraid of the technology, I suggest you carry a rock instead.

LOL RIGHT ON! Im generally wary of rugers, aside from my 10/22 and my dads mini-14 ranch, i havent had much experience with them.

I currently own 4 P-series Rugers: 2 P95s, a P97 and the new P345PR. All together, I've own 7 P-series Rugers and they all have been extremely reliable. About the three I sold, one was a P944 that I couldn't hit the side of a barn with. A P95 and a P97 were sold to fund a couple of CZ's. As soon as I could, they were replaced with new Rugers. The only Ruger I had accuracy issues with was the P944.

I guess when I wear out my P97D I'll look into a new one
never happen.

Ah, what's wrong with both, especially since they both share the same mag?

They both have functioned flawlessly for me with a slight edge on accuracy to the P97, but that may not last the more I shoot the P345. Both will shoot the ten ring out of a B2 target at 12 yards without problem.
