It was a perfect day for shooting. Sunny 85 degrees, no wind. Best of all I played hooky from work, and got paid for it. :D

This target wasn't the best group, but the high score. The one round predominately in the 30 ring also touched the double 1, and the double 20 ring. That 1 round counted as 40 pts. I'll take it. :D

Nice score, Cajun! I'm headed out to the range today to see if I can better my score for the iron class.

Cajun,
Are you aware that your target has two "13"s and no "17". Looks like the dartboard I see after too many  . Nice shooting, though.

Good eye barxder. Only a Mathematician or Engineer would have caught that.

I am going to try and shoot this this weekend, however, I had one question for you:

The one round predominately in the 30 ring also touched the double 1, and the double 20 ring. That 1 round counted as 40 pts. I'll take it.

As I see that the round in the 30 ring borders others, why would that not count as 30 points only?

I don't throw darts much, just curious as to this. If I do shoot it this weekend, I'll take a snapshot of it and let cajun score it.

Ok, I see what you mean. So a round outside of the center ring is higher than the bull itself?

Hey mikr. As stated in the rules if a round touches another ring even if it is mostly in a lesser ring you get the higher score. When I scanned the target the hole closes up slightly, but inserting a 22LR in the hole it is into the white of the inner 20-pt area. Therefore it is worth 2x20=40 pts.

I scanned this with the scanner lid up so it wont close the hole. This pic shows it better. Good luck on your shoot this week end. ;)

I will post this tip in the Rules as I did last year.

I understand what you meant cajun, I was just saying that the designer of the target left it so that I would want to group in the 2x20 pie slice, as that would score higher than grouping them in the center. It would have made more sense (to me anyways) to give the center ring a 50 score, rather than 30.

I wasn't commenting on the shot and that it touches other segments, but the value of the target where I would think that center ring should score highest?

I agree with you mikr. It should be of more value hitting the small center. Also the ring lines on this target are large. Lets see how it goes as is. I will make an amendment to the rules if it causes a problem.

Ok guys lets see what you've got!

None of the above, actually. Look at my handle and think of Roman numerals...and

Only a mathematician would have thought of using a Roman Numeral in that fashion ... maybe you should consider a career change!!! LMAO
