Got out to the range today as planned. Noticed that unlike riding a bicycle, shooting skills do NOT just come back to you, at least it didn't for me. Took me half the session just to get respectable groups (for me that's around an inch plus or minus 1/4 inch). Also resighting the rifle to a 6-inch center took some time, to heck with those 3-inch centers at MY age;)

Good news is the rifle seems to be shooting better than I am. All the usual mods plus my ridigity strut. On a different practice target got 4 out of 12 bullseyes. Out of the 12 only 4 were not in the 10 ring.

Anyway, the next post is today's best effort. A smidge over a one-inch group, although a bit high still. Feel I can do better as I get more practice in, but OK for the season opener. HEY Cajungeo, help me out scoring this new target! Can't figure out the double points for the inner ring business.

That's good shooten kkina. 2-20 pt. shots in the inner ring for 80 pts + 2-12 pt shots in the inner ring for 48 pts + 1-30 pt = 158 pts.

I see an error I posted in the total possible as you have surpassed the 150 possible I posted. It should have been 200 pts.

Thanks Cajun, that's what I was thinking. Strange target though, if I'd gotten all 5 bullseyes would have been a lower score?

Yep, thats what thru me off on points possible. I'll be aiming at the 30 ring, and high for best score.

Beautiful day at the range today, sunny and warm. Good day for improving basic shooting skills and taking another crack at a better contest score. Using the second version of my rigidity strut, getting a shade under 1-inch groups when I "do my part", which is isn't as consistent as I'd like it to be, but we're working on it. Saw lots of flyers today, and it was all me, but also saw a lot of 2 and 3 hole touching groups too. Any way here's my contest entry update.

Hey Cajun, where is everybody? Looks like it's just us!

Flame you???????

That's good shooten kkina. I'll have a tough time beating that with a scope.

Don't know. I guess either a lot of intimidated members, or their still in their winter hibernation mode. :P There is still May and June to post a target.

You are correct. I can tell I really got rusty over the winter months. It takes some practice to get it back.

I hope no-one feels like they should be intimidated. Believe me, not all my targets look this good yet. I couldn't even keep all my shots on the damn 6-inch black last weekend!
