I picked up a 1903 remington at sale it isn't original but looks to be worth the 125 I spent. it has a parkerized barrel a redish finnish on the bolt and reciever is drilled and tapped has a monty carlo stock with the black caps and hand checkering .The stock is also glass bedded.
the only numbers on it are on the reciever, barrel, and bolt which is marked on the reciever REMINGTON
1903
3211XXX
on the barrel is marked S C
AN IMIGE OF A BALL WITH FIRE ON TOP
11 43
and REM8620 ON THE BOLT HANDLE
There looks to be a hole in the reciever about one inch from the front. It looks factory made. Is this bad?
Any info would be apreciated Thanks in advance 2gun.
There also apears to be some deep pitting on the bottom of the reciever it is only visable after the stock is removed .Could this gun be un safe because of the pitting?
A closer look also reviled the word FAJEN on the butt plate.
