Rules for Iron/Red Dot Mini's

Ok now, this is the first of 3 parts of this years shooting contest. I think there are many couch potatoes that need to get up grab some targets, grab their mini and take it to the range. It is a proven fact the people who shoot at least once a month will live longer than those that don't. It has to do with the release of all the endorphins from the brain while your shooting. :D It is also a great stress reliever. This is true! So get in there if not for fun, then for your health!

1. Use this target only it is 7" wide, with 7/8" bull. We all must use the same target.

2. Range 50 yds.
3. 5 shots per target
4. To save computer space please post 1 target per shooter. As in the Gallery the Shooter will own that thread. 1 thread only per member please. You can edit or upgrade your target, and repost with a better score on your thread only.
5. Write total score on target. Add numbers, the bull counts 30. Outer ring is face value, inner ring counts double. A hit on a line counts as the higher number. 200 is a perfect score. Please write on target Points, Date, and Distance/Class
6. PERFECT UNION members only. For family members or friends to enter, they must first register, and become members. (They don't have to be the owner of rifle)
7. I will verify target, i.e. highest score, or in event of a tie, the tightest group. The shooter of the highest will be named "PERFECT UNION MINI SHOOTING CHAMPION of SERIES 1 - IRON/RED DOT CLASS"
8. Each series the title is up for grabs, as long as the interest is there.
9. Mini-14, and Mini-30 compete on even terms, no other rifles please. There is no limit on the mods done to the rifle.
10. I reserve the right to change the rules as needed.
11. Gentlemen, and Ladies, this is on your honor. Good luck, and good shooting.

Allowed Shooting Aids Any bench rest, bipod, sand bag, etc. You may color the 30 ring with black marker, or overlay/face Official target with any target you choose. Only the complete official target will be scored, and posted.

Tip on Posting Target With handling the target from range to scanner and closing the scanner lid on the target tends to close the holes. This sometimes makes a hit appear as less than it actually is especially when it contacts a target ring line. You can reopen the holes with a 22 LR or .223 bullet (not the case). Then scan target with scanner lid open. This will better show your target. Crop the outer black edges, then continue with image preparation for posting.

So your mini shoots 5 " groups, how can I compete with 2" groups? I encourage you to post anyway. You can compete with yourself each time you shoot. Do some simple mods on your mini (the how to is here in this forum). Read up on shooting techniques. This attitude will make you a better shooter tomorrow than you are today; this will make everyone a winner! A better shooter equals a better hunter, or a better defender. Above all, use eye, and hearing protection. Remember to unload rifle, lock bolt to rear, and use safety before going down range. Be safe above all else.

Each Series Start a new thread with a new target. I will retire your last series thread. This will be for determining "Shooting Champion" of the Year!

Ammendment to Rule #1. Coloring the 30 ring (any color) for better visual sighting will be allowed, as it does not change dimiensions of the Official target, nor have much chance to change ones scores. No other mods to target will be allowed at this time.
