Ok guys. The snow and Ice is melting, the grass is starting to grow, and great spring weather is here. We have been cooped up all winter, now its time to go to the range, or shooting area to check out the mods we did this winter.

Beginning April 1 we will have the official shooting contest!
There are 2 major differences this year:
(1) There are 3 classes:
1. STANDARD CLASS- Stock Ruger 10/22, 10/22 WMR, with Standard sights, or non-magnified Red-Dot sights. You can do any mod except retain the stock barrel, and sights.
2. STANDARD SCOPE CLASS - Same as STD Class, but with Magnified Scope
3. CUSTOM CLASS - Anything goes as long as the receiver is a 10/22, 10/22 WMR, or 10/17 HMR. Receiver can be OEM, aftermarket, or AMC.

(2) Each shooting period has been increased from monthly to quarterly. April-June, July-Sept., Oct-Dec. This gives each shooter 3 months to shoot & post a target. This will eliminate the excuses and the poor showing we had last year.

So pick your class, get some ammo, and stand by for some fun.

You lurkers, quit lurking, and sign up. This contest will make all of us a better shooter. I don't care how well you used to shoot, with out practice you will get worse. So grab your 10/22, and join in and have a blast! :D

Please add any comments or questions to this post.

You all have a target picked out yet?

I have limited shooting opportunities (read: I don't have many places to go - especially now since Ohio has a concealed carry law - so my indoor range is now full of yahoo's....)....

Don't take this as a guy who's an expert - I'll probably come in dead last!

WOO!

Yep I am looking at the targets now. You may have an outdoor shooting near you. I live in a small town, and have 3 within 10 miles. If I didn't know someone from them I wouldn't have known they were there. Check your phone book you may find one.

Don't worry how you are against the best shooter. The idea is for you to become a better shooter than you are now. All it takes is some ideas from this forum, and some practice. By posting you will see your skills grow. ;)

I will give it a try. Glad to see you have picked some targets out. Might be able to give it a shot this weekend. Just ordered a Green Mountain barrel and would like to get a post in on the Standard classes before I make any changes.

Still trying to sort out the right ammo, so I have orer some various types to try out. Good chance to see how they compare to others.

Sweet!
Im down for shooting some bear targets in the standard class with my modified 10/22 open sight. Oh, I finally got a nice bench setup. Its the Caldwell "The Rock" with Protektor bags. Might take me 2 weeks to get out to the range (coming up on finals, ya know. Next tuesday is my last class after 6 years of non-stop classes!) but it looks like I have plenty of time to get out to the range and participate in this friendly competition!
Count me in!
