from blued to polished?

Is it possible to take a rifle with a blued finish and remove the blue and give it a polished finish without it rusting?

you gotta' cover the naked metal with something or it will turn brown.

you will have to cover the bare metal with something heat resistant. they make clear finishes for metal wheels which will stand the heat from brakes. it will leave a little bit of a cloudy finish. the clear coat will scratch and chip with rough use. you could have it nickle plated for a small fortune.

personally if i was to polish one out it would be a stainless steel weapon. it will not rust up like cold steel.
