Anyone have any info on it, or shot it? I don’t even know if it’s out yet? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I have heard about it but haven't seen or fired it. Might take a gander at glocktalk.com. They usually know all the Glock news. They know almost as much about Glocks as the people here know about their arm of choice. Good luck to ya.
45 GAP (Glock Automatic Pistol) is a perfectly wonderful solution to a problem that did not exist. Glock's design does not allow it to produce a truly compact (width & grip) 45 or 10mm pistol. The model 36 was a stop-gap measure but did not have the capacity that Glock is famous for. Besides the 45 GAP plays well to Gaston Glock's vanity, if SIG can have a proprietary cartridge why can't I.
400 CorBon, 41 AE, 45 Super, 460 Rowland just to name a few are more variations of the same theme. WHY? If it were me I would wait to see if the GAP fell into the same forgotten 45 variations as the others. Marketing sells guns and publicity is free if you furnish everything for no charge.
FWIW Springfield displayed a .45GAP XD at the Shot show. Seems they have no plans to sell the XD in .45ACP, which is a pretty big disappointment personally.
I have a hard time seeing a reason for its existence. Yes, it will equal the ACP; but only with bullets of up to 200g, and it must operate at much higher pressures to do it. The ACP is a much better round. The only thing a 45glock has going for it; is that it will fit in the handle of a 9mm platform. Too bad they have to slap the big heavy slide off the model 21 45ACP in order to make it work. What is the point again? It is kind of like the 357SIG. We have had the 38 Super since 1929! Lets see, 357Sig shoots a 125g bullet at 1350fps. 38 Super shoots a 130g bullet at 1300, and up to 1450fps in the Cor Bon load. Again, what exactly was the question? Oh yeah, marketing....... We need to sell more guns, so we need to convince the shooters out there that what they currently have is junk; and only our version of the latest and greatest will save them! Right!

If I was gonna buy a Glock, I'd think about it. Any other gun, why not just get the ACP version, for more flexibility? But since I HATE/LOATHE/DISPISE plastic guns, I guess it's not an issue, is it? ;)

My PT145 Tauras is a great compact .45 acp. It is a DAO, hammerless, ten round mag + one in the tube. No reason to get a gap pistol. If I was going to purchase a Springer XD it would be in .40, they are sweet and accurate. Plastic guns don't have the "feel" but they are here and they are good. Shoot what you enjoy :D
Glock could have removed the hollow backstrap and made a much more compact model that would have made the GAP unneccessary, geeez.
It's an answer in search of a question......

Two primary reasons for the 45GAP, one of which has been touched on.
1- 45cal round (and power) for those with smaller hands. This is the primary sails pitch in the US
2- Some countries do not allow civilian ownership of weapons that are chambered for "military" cartridges (same reason Rugar makes a "export only" Mini-14 in 222Rem Mag). This is the primary reason for the worldwide market.
