Just wondering if anyone here shoots or has a Winchester Big Bore 94 and what caliber is it.

I own a 1978 Win. XTR BB 94 in 375 Winchester equipped with Williams peep sights.

Love the gun and have taken many deer with it plus a 2 year old bull moose at 125 yards.

I reckon that makes two of us. Interestingly, mine is set up just like yours. Great minds must think alike. As yet, I have taken no animals though it has been on a number of hunts. I've only recently begun casting for this rifle and look forward to trying some new loads. It is a very pretty rifle though it does tend to smack my cheekbone at the bench.
Best regards,
Phill.

hey guys I am in the BB 375 club.I have on of the first models they came out with made by winchester.
it is one of my fav. leverguns ever.I have taken alots of deer with one.it is pretty easy to reload for and I also cast bullets for it.I have tried alot of different powders, bullets, ect and my fav load.

220 gr hornady
36.0 gr RL-7
win brass
win primer

250 gr plain base cast .376
the jury is still out on this one so far AA5744 has turn the best groups.between the win 375 and my marlin ltd 45/70 my bolt rifles have been getting dusty. :)

Took my 375 out yesterday along with my new Tikka whitetail in 30-06. After sighting in the Tikka, I thru the 375 up on the bench. Shot 5 shots in a 4 inch diamond at 100 yards with peep sights using 200 gr. factory Wins.

I can't get the factory 250 gr. any more, but I have enuff brass that I will be reloading some. I use the 200 for deer and 250 for moose.

Interesting mention about the 220 gr. I might even role up a few of them, it might make a good deer moose combo cartridge.

Good shooting Guys

the first deer I killed with my 375 w/ the 220 hornadys was about a 70 yard shot.I just put it behind the shoulder.it was the first time I have ever killed a deer that went straight down.since then I have killed several and the longest one went was about 20 feet.the knock down power of the 375 win is very impressive.the 220 hornady should be perfect for elk/moose if the shooter does his job.
the first thing I did was put on a williams peep sight on mine and love it.I think midway still carries them.
last year I picked up a marlin ltd in 45/70 but haven't have the chance yet to take any game with it yet.it sure thumps alot harder than the 375.I mainly shot the 45/70 for target work and it is pretty accurate with cast bullets.
I am still working on the 375 with cast.I think the rate of twist has alot to do with it.my 38-55 does alot better with cast.
best of luck to y'all and glad to find that someone else out there shoots a 375 win.

The 375 just goes to prove the old adage that a slower heavier bullet can do as much damage as the high speed bullets can, with a well placed shot of course.

Hi all
I am new here I don't have a 94 big bore,But I have a 375 in a marlin 375M does that count.I got it in 1992 and have laid many deer to rest with it.Like txpete said the first one I killed with it hit the ground so fast.I lost sight of it and thought I missed.Until I walked over to see if I could find blood and there it laid. That was the first deer I shot that dropped in its tracks.I own several lever guns now but my old 375 is my go to gun.And my favorite loads are.

H 322 with 38.0 gr.
200 gr. sierra FP.
cci 200 primer
COL. 2.525

imr 3031 with 34.0 gr.
220 gr. hornady FP.
cci200 primers
CLO. 2.530

Both of these loads are very accurate out of my rifle I have tried lots of different loads but these are the most accurate..
just my 2 cents worth hope I didn't butt in where I didn't belong.I am new here..

that 375 marlin fits right in as a 375.I like marlins and have a 1895 LTD II in 45/70 which just loves cast bullets.

I just got one this year. It was from an estate sale, still in the original box. I don't think it was even fired. I haven't taken it hunting yet, but I am really impressed with the way it shoots and seems to be very accurate for what it is.
