This is the start of my new project. I will keep updates here for you all to check out. I recently joined a local gun club with a trap league and have decided that it looks like a blast.
Unfortunately my Winchester 1300 Defender that has served as my home defense shotgun for the last 5 years doesn't meet the minimum barrel length requirements for the club, and I found out that the Defender series doesn't interchange barrels like the other 1300's. So the 1300 had to go. :(
Upside is, selling the 1300 financed most of this Remington 1100 that I bought off Gunsamerica.com for about $300. The finish is a little beat up, but I can live with that. I wish i knew who the original owner was. I'd like to smack them. When I received the shotgun it was literally caked with grime and GSR in all the internal mechanisms and parts. I have done a 85% cleanup but have left the minor parts that i don't want to disassemble to the experts. (A little outside my gunsmithing experience)

This project will cover turning this beatup old lady into a lean, mean trapshooting and home defense machine. I am having the original barrel shortened to 18" and having a tritium front sight installed, as well as a spare vent-rib 26" barrel for trap. Combat bolt handle, Speedfeed Monte Carlo stock, Tuning for light loads, and 2 shot mag extension will be done by Lee at The Arms Room.
Stay tuned for updates.
