Hey, all,
My dad's got an old Savage 1899 levergun in .303 Savage He's thinking of getting rid of. The gun's at about 80% finish, & the forestock's got a crack in it.
I was wondering if anyone knew:

(1) Approx value?

(2) Does anyone still make .303 Savage ammo?? (and can it be had for less than $20- a box?)

(3) How would one field strip this weapon??

Thanks in advance for any help ya'll could provide
-Steve

Where I come from 303 savage ammo goes for $70.00 CDN. for 20 rounds at gun shows and this seems to be the only source for it, unless you can reload this can become very expensive, even brass is expensive.

If you really want some great info go to www.canadiangunnutz.com

There is fellow on there called Maddog and he is a savage expert.

Cavscout 101:

The site I referred you too is down for a few days as they are upgrading the servers. If you do not log on, try back in a day or so.
