My first 10/22 PIC

Here's my 10/22. I just bought it at wal-mart last week, put on a fajen thumbhole stock, volquartsen barrel, barrel mounted leupold scope and modified the bolt release. As soon as the parts get here, I'm going to add a new trigger assembly.

I am new to the board ( but not to the 10/22 ) and that is a nice piece of work ! Very interested in how it shoots . post an update please .

I've shot about 100 rounds of cheap remmington ammo through it and so far I'm really impressed with it's accuracy. I have a dirt mound at the edge of my yard where I've been shooting at 25yards. Whn I can get to a range and shoot from a bench I should be able to get a better feel for how accurate it is.

Mostly I built this gun for me to work on my shooting skills.

Hey appalacian trapper. That is a beautiful rifle. After you rework the trigger, free float the barrel, bed the receiver, and select some match ammo it will really be a shooter. ;)

I gave my Remington golden bullets away. I wasn't impressed with them. Testing them thru my crony they had the highest STD dev (variance round to round in Velocity).

Yeah those remingon golden bullets are pretty cheep I know. Every know and then I shoot one that sounds like a subsonic and sometimes I get a really hot one.
