Howdy all. What would be a reasonable price for a new blued version of the 1895 Guide Rifle in 45-70? I'm about to begin shopping.
Jake
$450 to $475 around the Portland Or area. Been looking at them, would like one for the coastal rainy cold snot dripping 2nd season of elk. Not to be confused with the coastal rainy cold snot dripping winter steelheading season. Brrr, can't wait for the spring weather and not as cold rainy snot slightly dripping spring chinook season. :D

So would $399 for a new one be a good deal? I'm guessin so.

Hey Gossman, come down south. I think Bimart can get them for the same price as the guide guns! $419 i think was the last advertised price I saw.
GI joes can get them cheap too. I know you aren't lookng though

This may be too late to help, but I have been shopping for a Marlin 1895 in 45/70.
Here, (in Northern VA) I can pick up the 1985GS fro $500. I love the stainless, but am going to go with the standard 22" barrel. Everyone I have asked says put a recoil pad on it and its fine! Good luck.
