Just recently purchased TC Encore 22-250 26 inch hvy bbl, have shot 220 swift for a long time, needed a change, will be shooting 55 gr sierra bullet, has anybody got any experience with h380, varget or h322, kinda leaning toward h322 for chamber pressure.

H-414 never let me down, I don't think I ever had a group over 3/4" with it. Varget might do just as well, but I haven't tried it. BTW, the best groups I ever shot were with H-414, .110" for five shots at 100 yards. Needless to say, I stopped experimenting right then!

Hi T-C
Just saw your sight and thought i'd send some info, dated as it is for using H380 in a 22-250.
I had a Ruger Varmint grade (heavy barrel) 26" I beleave, in 1982 that I show loads with H 380 getting as good as 5/16" five shots at 100 yds with Rem brass necked only -53 sierra HPBT-CCi 250--and 38.8 powder.- buller was seated just off the lands . .55 speer FMJ same as before w/ 39 powder -5 shots 100 yds 3/4"..Tried som 40 gr at one point but never got better than 3/4" 5 at 100 using ww case cci 250 and 39.0 H 380, must have been the cases.
Sold the gun for $250 in 88' w/ a 4x12 Redfield!! (Dumb ass) sure wish I had it back. The guy that bought it still has and uses it, it's a good one.
Hope this helps
Also had one group full sized RP brass 53 sierra hpbt-cci 250 with 39.0 do a 7/16 group with the H 380.

Hello ...yote...
H380 and Varget are my favorite powders for my 22-250!! Both should do you well in in your TC..

I like WW 760 in my 22-250. It is a Rem 788 with alot of work. Canjar trigger, crowned barrel, glass bedded and free floated barrel. 4 loads:
38.6 grs 760 with either Sierra 52 gr hpbt or Speer 52 hollowpoint. .3 to .4" groups
39.5 grs 760 with Sierra 55 gr boat tail .5" groups
39.0 gr 760 with Sierra 50 gr Blitz (some barrels will not handle this explosive bullet at these velocities but I have had no trouble...what it does to a jackrabbit is something to see) .6" groups
30.5 gr of IMR 3031 with any good 50-52 grain bullet (good mid range load, easy on barrels) .5" groups
All loads use Rem brass and Fed 210 match primers

H 380 is the most consistently accurate powder for the 22/250 that I have ever used in that caliber. Out of 6 22/250s I don't recall ever having to look any further that 36 to 38 Grs behind the 55 gr. Speer or Sierra for a good load.
