Having very unwisely sold a Marlin 1894CL in this caliber a few years ago--believing (wrongly) that replacing it wouldn't be too tough to do--I am again looking for a lever gun in this hyphenated caliber.
Choices aren't wide--another 94CL, but those can have pretty casual chamber specs. A used Win 92--but finding one that isn't a Yukon River canoe paddle at or under 1500 bones is problematic. The repro 92's at Davidson's might be alright....but my heart is kinda set on one of those Cimarron (Uberti) 1873 carbine repros.
I know--the 92 Win and 94 Marlin can be boosted well past factory pressures safely, while the 73 needs to stay stock. Cool with me--I already do that with an original 73 in 44-40 WCF. Cast bullets at 1200 FPS will work well on varmints in the 32-20, just like the 44-40 worked on black bear and deer for Great Grandpa.
Has anyone here handled or used the Uberti/Cimarron repros--especially in 32-20? I am interested in hearing impressions from real users and not gunwriters.
