Here's my contest entry for the month, and I guess for the year. 48 points. I'm SURE I could have done a 49 or 50, but it was pretty cold at the range, you see, so I was shivering quite a bit, and...yeah, right!!! ;) Anyway, feeling pretty good about hitting 3 bullseyes out of 5.

Decided to hit the range today and see if I could better my score for the contest...and i did! Here's one of TWO 49 pointers. What do you think...not too bad for a rookie?

I gotta ask, why does your target look a little strange?

I just print out the targets with dark backrounds. My Mini is currently sighted for a 6:00 hold on a 6-inch target center. The darker backround allows me to see the white 6-inch pattern at 50 yards. At some point I may decide to just re-sight for the 3-inch center.

Wondering how other folks using iron sights do their sighting?

I use the same target in the 10/22 iron sight class at 25 yds. I sight 6:00 on the 3" ring. I don't know if I could see it at 50 yds. as the old eyes arn't as sharp as they used to be. :(

I hear you Cajungeo, same with my eyes. Not sure if i could see the 3-inch center well enough to shoot at 50 yards. Even the 6-incher's a challenge! Will try it though next trip to the range.

By the way, yet another round of thanks for all the great advice I've gotten from this forum. Both on accurizing the mini and basic shooting technique. Would not be having these results if not for the assistance.
