Hello all. I am probably going to be buying a Yugo SKS from Cheaper Than Dirt this weekend. They have them on sale for $99. I probably will be able to pick from different ones. Is there anything I should look for specifically? Is there any reason I shouldn't buy one of these from them?

:o Huh???? Cheaper than Dirt??? I had no idea they sold firearms! Are you sure that's right? I bought my Yugo SKS from Interordnance of America two summers ago (2002), I bought the unissued one for 179.00. An excellent deal, if I do say so myself. Unissued, for those of you that don't know what that means. Is a rifle that was built at the factory then packed in cosmoline and put in wooden storage crates. Stuck in a military wharehouse never to be seen again. So 50 or so years later when they were found and opened up, they were, are basically brand new. Now I also know that Aim Surplus has Yugo SKS's. Although what grades of quality- I don't know. Aim also has Albanian SKS's in 4 different grades as well as 2 very low quality "rack" grades. If you want a good Yugo go to Interordnance's site and buy unissued. You'll spend 3 or 4 days cleaning cosmoline off the rifle but it'll be worth it. :D :usa:

They have a store here in Fort Worth. I guess I will look at one, and if they guarantee it to at least work I will try one out. For $100 why not? I really want to get an AR or AK of some kind.

Definitely get it from SOG (Southern Ohio Guns). I got mine from there and it was in absolutely brand new condition. Never been fired condition. Do the hand pick. It is about $160.

If you go to Gunbroker.com or Auction Arms.com they have pages that list some of the dealers in your area.
