Sixgun: I have read about bending the trigger spring on the encore to give it a trigger pull weight of about 2 pounds. I am very interested in tackeling this project but there was not enough information about it. Could you describe the process as to where to put the bend in the spring and how much to bend it. Thank You looking foreward to hearing from you. Boltaction
well, i'm not sixgun but he did coach me on mine. i have since done one of my encore's and my G2 contender. it's really simple. you don't have to remove the spring.
after the trigger guard is removed, and then the trigger shoe removed, you will see the L shaped end of the trigger spring sticking up down inside the frame. take a screwdriver and shove the end of the spring(the part sticking right up at you) down toward the interior of the frame. i shoved mine 4 times total, thereby weakening the spring. it has a great trigger pull now.
the G2 seems to have a weaker spring. i recommend going easy on the spring push, so as not to get it too light, then put it back together and test. you can take it apart and put it back together in just minutes.
for a complete PROFESSIONAL type trigger job, get mike bellm's free downloadable instructions at www.bellmtcs.com. this will also help with your feat of working the spring. he also sells replacement springs, for lighter pulls. to completly install a new spring requires going deeper into the frame, and is a tad harder to do. the spring bend is easy, and satisfied me for my use.
