I don't know if this is appropriate for this forum, but I couldn't quickly find a better place.

UN Peachkeeping - Military Division] (http://www.un.org/Depts/dpko/milad/)

Does the UN keep a standing army? If so, how big is it?

It always seemed to me that China (w/NorKor or Taiwan as a trigger) was a much greater threat. Let's keep Wal-Mart doing business with them so maybe capitalism will domesticate them. :)

The UN doesn't keep a standing armed forces. It relies on the militaries of its members for enforcing its will. The US seems to get used in this role quite a bit, but the UK, France, Belgium, and a host of others provide troops as well.
