Hi guys,
Matt from Ironwood Designs here. Just registered earlier today.
Great site!

Wanted to share one of our new products, and my favorite 10/22 conversion.
This is based on the Steyr AUG, a rifle near an dear to my heart.

The conversion includes a cantlilever scope mount, as well as a folding grip, for
the std. barrel model, our propietary trigger system and our dual action extended
mag release lever / bolt hold open device. The trigger system will maintain
whatever lb. pull you tune your factory Ruger trigger group to. We use the Volquartsen
target hammer, as well a little polishing mojo on some of the other components.

The conversion will accept the high cap 10/22 mags, as well as the factory 10rd. mags.

Let me know what you think. If you want to see more, check out our web site.

http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/ go to the 10/22 page. Or Click on:

The SG conversion will be featured in the December mailing of the American Rifleman.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again,
Matt

Very nice looking. I like it. I really love the Walther conversion you guys do. When I get around to building my 10/17 I just might go with that Walther setup. That definitly would draw some attention at the range :D Quick question, would I be able to choose the colors I wanted in the laminated version? Also what kind of bedding is required? Thanks and good looking stuff you got there -Carnifex

Carnifex,
Thank you very much for the kind words, glad you like my work.

A laminate version would be a custom mod, and would cost a bit more, basically
the cost of the materials. Rutland Plywood carries many different colored conventional
laminate blanks that you could choose from. Our std. units come with Black Walnut
furniture. I believe this is mentioned on the 10/22 page of our web site.

The red unit on the site was made form Pakkawood. this is very expensive material,
and is a bit too heavy in my opinion. We can discuss the details this further if you decide
to go this route with the SG. I'm sure we can get you something that appeals to you
without too much hassle.

The AUG requires no bedding. The barrel free floats and the inletting is pretty tight.
There is plenty of material to remove if you decide to pursue bedding the action.
The SG has a clamped barrel system, and needs no additional action bedding or
stabilizing.

Please feel free to e-mail me at
Matt@Ironwooddesigns.com if you need more info. I try to check the different forums
that I post on, but I have been very busy as of late, and can't always check the responses.

Thanks again for your words,
Matt

Welcome to the forum Matt. What an eyecatcher! Don't think I've seen a rail like that one before.

BTW I couldn't get your link to work, so I took the liberty to add the 10/22 page link. You can click on the edit button above your post if you had another page in mind.

Cajungeo,
Thanks for the comments and for the heads up on the site link.
Can't figure that one out, the address I posted is correct.

The cantilever scope mount was designed in house, by me, specifically
for the AUG. After trying it on a std. 10/22, it makes a pretty handy Scout type
mount, for long eye relief or red dot systems.

Stay tuned, we have numerous new 10/22 products in the works, I know you
will like them.

Thanks again,
Matt

Swill,
Ah, another AUG owner, I love mine as well. One of, if not the most natural pointing
and easy shooting rifle ever built, in my opinion.

I will have new pics, I am just waiting for my photographer friend to drop of a CD for me with
larger pics. Shoot me your e-mail and I will send you a big pic. Maybe you can use it as
wallpaper for your monitor. They are beautifully photographed, white background, shows
the lines very nicely.

Units from our first run are starting to move. We are prepping 6 units to ship by next week.
I know you will love this if you are an AUG guy. Fun factor of 10 while shooting these
conversions. Quality manufactured as well, you will not be disappointed.

Anyway, thank you for your reponse.

Please e-mail me at Matt@Ironwoodddesigns.com for more details.

Thanks again,
Matt

Pdaddy,
I actually did some work with Minis many years ago. Found out they are not
well suited for our builds. To difficult configuring the trigger system and dealing
with the location of the ejection port.

Not to say that I won't possibly look into it again, but no immediate plans for
a mini bull pup conversion.

Thanks for the kind words though.

Could you clarify what I get for $950? The add says it doesn't include the receiver, barrel, trigger group, scope, rings or covers.... It is a sharp setup!!

Sniper,
Very sorry about noy replying sooner. I hadn't checked the boards in
a while. I do list what the conversion consists of on my web site.
Take a look at the detailed spec portion on the 10/22 page.
I think you will find the info you requested.

Basically you get the conversion minus the action barrel, optics and rings.
The conversion includes everything you see in the picture on the site, minus
the items I have listed. You also get a tuned trigger, using a Volquartsen hammer,
hand finished stocks, bipod, adjustable trigger, scope mount, adjustable recoil
pad and the envy of your buddies, haha.

Please let me know if you need more info, e-mail me at:
