I just picked up an older model Rossi model M68 snub nose .38 Spl in a trade for an old side by side 12 gauge that I haven't shot in over 20 years.
I've heard both good and bad about these guns, but this one is virtually brand new, has only had 5 rounds fired through it, the finish is spotless, and it has a real nice trigger pull.
I'll try it out first thing tomorrow morning when the range opens for public shooting. I picked up an Uncle Mike's Sidekick holster, and I have a pair of Safariland speed loaders, and a speed loader pouch on order with Madway. I also want to get an IWB holster for it, because contrary to NJ gun laws, I'm packing this winter when I start driving that fuel oil truck into depressed nieghborhoods carrying customer's money in my pocket. I hope I never need to use it, but I'd sure feel a lot more comfortable knowing I've got half a chance when some crackhead with a "9" threatens my life for a couple of hundred dollars....

I picked up one of these last year myself - although it is a bit more used. It's not a bad little gun though. It has proven reliable after probably a couple hundred rounds of load testing and I actually have it shooting some pretty tight groups at 10 to 15yds.
Makes a handy little carry piece! :D

Well, I blew 150 rounds through it today, and I'm very pleased with how is little South American snubby works. I pinned quite a few bullseyes at both 15, and 25 feet, then for laughs I shot the steel plates with it....I did pretty darn good considering it was a .38 snub nose in my hands.
The gun works great, it has better accuracy than I ever expected, and it'll make for a good little concealed carry piece.
There's only one down side to this.......Now I want a big wheel gun to go along with it.........can you say...Colt Python Elite?

Well........
The Python will DEFINITELY suffice for a big wheel gun! :D
Personally, I just settled with my 4" 1972 Ruger Security Six .357Mag as a comp-anion piece.......it's SUCH a sweet shooter! :2guns:

I may have to change my mind about that Colt Python.....I got the chance to shoot a 6" S&W 686 today, and I gotta tell ya.....what a sweet piece that gun is. I couldn't belive how easy the trigger pull is for a DA revolver. The guy who owned the gun was shooting the steel plates, and he loaded 6 fairly hot .357 mag loads in it for me, and I hit 6 plates in 6 shots.....something I've never been able to do with my Beretta 96.
And the S&W 686 is almost half the price of a new Python Elite...hard choise here....

Why is this a hard choice? If it is quality (and it is) and it works for you (and it does) and you're willing to bet your life on it (are you???) because isn't that why you feel the necessity for it ?
Personally, I'd choose a S&W Trail Boss in 44 mag any day of the week if that was going to be the revolver I have to bet my life on.
IMNSHO, a decent battery of working revolvers would consist of:
Ruger Bisley Vaquero 44 mag
S&W M629 Trail Boss 44 mag - 3" magna-port barrel
S&W M66 357 mag
S&W M60 38 Spl
NAA Mini 22 Convertible 22lr/22mag
NAA Mini 22 22lr
S&W M63 22lr
This battery will cover most contingencies. And please note all the S&W guns would be wearing Pachmayr Gripper Grips which provide close similarity for the working guns grips and hold, and most important of all for use with sweaty hands in the desert - a "tacky" feel.
Most important of all DON'T bet your life on cheap guns or less than first rate anything else.
