Bought a modle 37R. I know what the 37 is, since I have owned one for 30 + years. What does the "R" stand for? This is an early 37 12ga with a solid not vent rib barrel. Of course the barrels do not interchange (new s/n is 654XXX) since this "new" one is below the 855000 range. Any help is appreciated.
After more research, it turns out that the shotgun was manufactured in 1957, and is a pre standard type with the then typical solid rib. This will be a keeper, as it was built the year I was born! :D
