Henry Repeating Arms receivers are made in a state of the art casting facility and are made from a lightweight, yet extremely durable alloy. We chose this material to keep the gun lightweight and balanced, as a .22 should be. That is wy our rifles are so enjoyable. The action is smoother than any lever on the market and the gun is lightweight. The finish will last a very long time, but will get weathered just as any blued gun would. Please note that it is MUCH CHEAPER to replace our receiver cover (cost $20) than it is to reblue a steel receiver. The receiver cover removes easily and can be replaced if the gun gets beat up to the point that you decide you need to improve. Any bluing job today is much more costly and time consuming. The Hnery Golden Boy is also made from an alloy, a unique product called Brasslight, that is lightweight, durable and maintains the shiny finish. A protective coating is also added.
