Well, as a vet it seems that it is not that hard for me to jump through the hoops and get a CMP M1 Garand.

So, which way to turn?

Those Danish ones...are they the way to go? Good price, some of em rebarrelled, so what is the deal there?

They are all great.

Rebarelled, no biggy... you are the first civilian owner, and that's the bottom line. Some of these are rebarrelled by the military, some by the CMP (not sure under what conditions the latter takes place), but there are very few "all original" Garands.

I used to own one (essentially original HRA, from the CMP), but had to sell it under financial duress. Scott Duff got me a great price, however.
