Magnum Pistol Powder in Mini-Thirty?

I noticed a book load of AA1680 for use in 454Casull. I use AA1680, 2200, and 2230 in my Mini-Thirty. Seeing what I thought of as being a rifle powder in use with a pistol load got me to thinking I should try some H4227 and other powders that are normally used in large pistol loads in my 7.62x39mm handloads. What are the guidelines if any for trying unpublished loads?
