View Full Version : The AWB is going to die a slow, agonizing,

All around, I see more and more proof that the AWB is dying a slow, painful death!!! Just a few days ago, Israeli Military Industries released a statement that said they supported the expiring of the AWB, and that this would most likely mean that their UZI's would once again be available to be sold in the US (with the balance of US-made parts installed, of course!!) IMI referred to this as a "Several Million dollar contract" so maybe it is already in the works!!! (This was NOT a military contract they were speaking of by the way, because an IMI spokesperson quoted the 2nd Amendment in the article) Also, I keep hearing stories of how states that have recently passed CCW laws, are completely unable to keep up with the demand in CCW permit Apps which are piling up on Law Enforcement's desks, and folks are getting P***** and impatient that they are having to wait extended periods of time, even though their respective states have passed "shall issue" laws, and not "may issue" laws !!! Simply put, folks across all racial and social categories are getting fed up with the Liberal Dems diatribe on gun control, and record numbers of folks are going to the Gun!!! I have spoken with several friends of mine in the business, and we have all seen it-record numbers of folks who have typically been loath to buying guns, are now buying them, such as Blacks and Gays. Blacks in particular, no matter what the fine Rev's. Jackson and Sharpton and the NAACP have to say, should be the first in line to buy guns!!! They are murdered (usually by other Blacks) at a rate which far outscores their percentage of the population. In fact, in some areas, Blacks are killed at a higher rate and number than all other races COMBINED!! Even if you compensate for the number of "gangstas" and rapper wannabees that are murdered, that still leaves a good number of law-abiding folks who are murdered by their fellow criminally-oriented Brethren. Gays also have experienced an increase in gun ownership, and they are not ashamed to tell you they are gay, and that is why they are buying a gun. I think the group "Pink Pistols" has had something to do with the rise in Gays buying firearms. Also in the past few years, high-profile incidents of gay-bashing and murder (such as the Laramie, Wyoming incident) have prompted more and more of them to buy guns. My business has picked up so much in the past few months, that I have actually thought of going part-time at work to devote more time to my FFL. I shudder to think what the next 12 months will bring!!! I am actually contemplating right now buying a large stock of Pre-Ban parts, such as folding and collapsing stocks and upper assemblies for fear that these will be sold out almost overnight after 9-14-04!!!!

Greetings to all :D Aztoy is right! just because things are looking better for the expiration of the A.W.Ban-doesn't mean we can afford to let our guard down! We must all stick together, for right now is the possible turning point we've been looking forward to.Remember to continue to write your Reps. and Senators as well as the President-and don't forget to vote! We all must be proactive-and not get lazy and think that others are writing letters and calling their reps. so I dont have to. Oh,by the way AZSherman that's a good post you have written-keep up the good work! Good luck to us all! :usa:

I have heard rumors that there will be some political dancing so the Repubs can let it die a silent death. I don't know though. Just which domestic issue has George W Bush really fought for? Seems like all the conservative issues he has been awol on. I figure we will get screwed on this one too. Hope I am wrong though. From what they are saying on the mini 14 board about mags going cheap somebody somewhere maybe knows something. Like they say market watchers usually are the first to know.

Who knows? If we get another terrorist attack there may be a big push to extend the AWB. With a country that seems to want to trade freedom for percieved safety we may get something even worse. :(

Even though some of our liberal politicians are trying in vain to use 9/11 as a spring board for more gun control, it's actually 9/11 that has turned many folks who were previously against guns to buying them, and learning to shoot them.
There has been a big turn around in many parts of this country in favor of gun ownership, and the peservation of our second admendment rights, but there are still the Shuman's, Clinton's, Lautenburg's, Fienstien's and a big bunch of other prominent democtratic liberals who still think the general law abiding American populace is still not responsible enough to be trusted with a gun. They will continue to do Absolutely Nothing about criminals with guns, because they don't want to loose thier votes, but they will continue a relentless attack on us conservatives, and our 2nd admendment rights because they know they don't have our votes anyway. It's all feel good policy making, it's the only policy they know how to make...that and giving our tax dollars away to people who don't deserve it.
We can't let up on the fight, it's important to belong to a gun rights organization, wether it's the NRA, Jews for the Preservation of Gun Ownership, Gun Owners of America, or even the Pink Pistols. You also need to constantly remind your state representitives that you are a law abiding, tax paying voter who enjoys his/her's second admendment rights, and will not support any politician that does not agree with that stand.
The minute we let our gaurd down, those liberals will jump all over our rights...any chance they get. They have the media working in thier favor, and it wouldn't hurt if every gun owner in this country wrote a letter to every liberally twisted media outlet...(TV, News Print, and Radio)...that we as a collective will no longer support thier medium, and will not support thier sponsors until they start reporting in a truely fair and balance fashion. The news is supposed to be facts, the true facts, not Dan Rather's feelings about the subject, just the plain simple facts about the subject. The media's lies and twisted facts have driven the senses of many American viewers for far too long, and this is where most of those who are against us get thier view points.
We must keep up the fight, keep our eyes and ears open at all times, watch every politicain with keen awearness, and never let them slip one under the rug on us, or pull the rug out from under us........

Here in California, I noticed that Fienstien, Sherrif Baca and Los Angeles Chief Bratton were at a meeting not so long ago and all 3 were backing the AWB.

Interesting, is that no one paid any attention. The news commentators did not say anything about it and paid no attention. They showed it real quick and changed to other news real fast. I feel that quite a few people have no interest in AWB and could care less if it expires. Here in California I keep in touch with quite a few liberal organizations and I have yet to hear anything about the ban. I believe that most Californians are worried about the deficit and losing their jobs.

Man am I glad to hear you make that observation. I would not have known this. Where I am from in the mountians of central PA everybody is pro gun. I would not know what was going on elsewhere. This is good news,

Blzn69;
That is encouraging too. Maybe this thing will really expire. Question is.....

When to buy up the hicap mags! heh heh heh, now while the prices are falling or later? hmmmmmm

it is monday night on a holidayweek end and you make a statement about hilary running for office do you want to kill us with a slow death it that bitc-with her in office we would see the end firarms in the united states forever. i dislike hilary to the point i should not even go on about it i might say something incorrect. she is a commi hands down the american people have lost what mind most of them have , not much, do not get me wrong ther are a lot os americans that make good sence, i just think not enough that vote or are in the majority. i am plan frightened. the american fathers wrote int the const. the right to bear arms NOT because we did not have a good milita but they were concerned about government screwing the people in that time it was taxes by the english.that is why we must have firearms of all types. a few years ago i thought thatit was okay for the gov. to have us list and register all our arms but then thought of the germans in world war two going door to the door with lists of people they had lists had arms and how many and what kind. hilary is BAD news and there are more out there like her hollywood is full of them, and they will vot for her with much happiness. we are in for a not so fun ride and we better do something about it before it is to late, her husband was a cake walk compared to her.ANY BOBY ELSE AS CONCERNED? do not stick your heads in the sand like many people it could be right aroud the corner. help help help!

Hello knifeblade- I think if you read Aztoy's thread again you'll see he is most definatly NOT for Hilary Clinton. He makes the point that we need to watch-out for that nutty bit_h. She and all her gun grabbing bretheran must be stopped in their tracks at all costs! That's why he says that H&K needs to make a contribution to G.W.Bush. So that he has enough financial support to run again and win. In order to keep out the Liberals. It sounds to me like you & him are on the same path. So let's all stick together and do what must be done. To preserve our 2nd amendment rights-before it's too late! Just my two cents worth. :D :usa:

I don't expect any politicians to come out against the AWB. They will have to waffle around and let it die the liberal media has to many people convinced that without it we would have wacos with automatic weapons shooting up every McDonalds in the country. Thank god for Texas when the idiot shot up the Macdonald’s in Killeen TX the US congress passed the AWB, Texas passed a law to allow concealed weapons.

I just read a short news report that the ASSault Weapons Ban is gaining momentum in Maryland as a state law. I hope it ain't so! The last election I remember in Maryland, KKT was running for office. One of the K's stood for Kennedy. One of her big promises was to outlaw more guns. She lost by a huge margin and this was after the snipers were put out business. I can only hope that Marylanders still believe in the 2nd Amendment.

Anyhow, here in the Socialist Republic of Kalifornia, we've had the ASSault Weapon Ban since January 2000. It is a great deal more stringent than the federal version. Today I bought a 22LR revolver and it took almost an hour just for the paperwork! I had to take a test for a Handgun Safety Certificate, which I aced. (15 minutes). I had to fill out a Safe Ownership Affidavit (5 minutes). I had to fill out the Federal Form (8 minutes). The gun shop put that information on the State form and had me sign it (another 10 minutes). They had to demonstrate safe handling of the gun and I had to repeat what I was shown (10 more minutes) and I had to sign the form saying that it was demonstrated and they filled it out (another 5 minutes). There was a lot of cross-checking between the salesmen to make sure they didn't make an error. One guy was asking about whether the barcode number from the box should be on the paperwork, and there were other useless questions. Oh, I had to put my fingerprint on the state form and they photocopied my CA driver's license.

We're just a short step from a total ban, I tell you.

DF is right now attaching a rider to the Bill limiting the ability to sue gun manufacturers that will extend the AWB and make it permanent.

Kalifornia Citizen

Everyone should know who DF is, that jar refers to. She is Dianne Feistein, US Senator from Kalifornia. This is her second 6-year term, I believe. Before being elected Senator twice, she was the mayor of San Francisco for more than one term. Do you need to know more about her politics?

There is more that nobody outside of KA knows about. Her husband is a businessman billionaire. I'm not a communist so I hold no prejudices against honest wealth. But he is a billionaire because of trade with China. And like a good little wife, DF has used her Senator connections and power to increase trade with China. What's so bad about all that? Well, it gets better. All businesses in China are run and controlled by Chinese military officers. 99 cents of every dollar you spend on "Made in China" goes directly into Chinese military hardware. And DF made it happen, and continues to protect that trade, which makes her verrry wealthy.

When you see DF on TV, she looks like a kindly old grandmother, with her stylish scarf. She's the devil incarnate.

Oh yeah, she works very hard as a US Senator to disarm us like the peasants in China are disarmed. Elitist Devil!

I found this over at FALfiles.

----------
Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2003 (Introduced in Senate)

"The U.S. Senate will soon vote on S.659, a bill that will 'outlaw lawsuits against lawful firearms manufacturers.' This bill will be voted on in one month. Most gun owners consider this bill to be a GOOD thing, but...

Sen. Diane Finesteine put a 'rider' on this bill. The rider number is S.1034.

Its purpose is to permanently repeal the sunset date on the assault weapons ban, to ban the importation of large capacity ammunition feeding devices, and for other purposes.
So what does this mean?

If we do nothing and the Senate passes this bill next month, then it's over. Bush will sign it and there will be no sunset of the AW ban.

A vote on this issue in the Senate would be very close, but could go either way. We need every single vote we can get. Please call both of your Senators, urging them to oppose S.1034.

Never called your senators before? Now's a good time to call them. Call (202) 224-2315 and (202) 224-3353. Tell the aides this:

'The Senate will soon be voting on S.659 - a bill that will outlaw lawsuits against lawful firearms manufacturers. Senator Diane Feinstein put a rider on this bill. The rider number is S.1034. This rider MUST be removed from S.659.'"

You can read the complete story at:

Where will they stop?

I wonder what the pro gun lobbyist are trying to influence?

I think they would be better off not selling out, and making high caps again, myself.
