Ok, I am a newbie to reloading and my questioning is thus:
Firstly I have loaded Berry's preffered plated bullets (240 gr) with 22 gr of H110 in WW .44 mag cases with CCI 300 large pistol primers.
Secondly I have loaded Laser Cast 200 gr lead bullets in WW .44 mag cases 24.5 gr H110 with CCI 300 large pistol primers.
Third and last I have loaded same as second but used Alliant 2400 with the same 24.5 gr load.
The question ? does this sound too extreme? I am loading for hunting, and can't find alot of Data for these laser cast or exspecially the plated bullets. So I need some feedback from everyone so as I can figure out if I am going to ruin my pistol which is Ruger New Model SuperBlackhawk .44 Rem Mag. 10 1/2 " BBL . If you all need more info let me know

Fired those loads Friday afternoon , I still have all my fingers and such. Loads may have been a little hot but I was very impressed with the performance of the Laser cast 200gr bullets. They are a .431 diameter and from the ones I retrieved could find no gas cutting , and showed excellent rifling marks. I don't have a chronograph yet so I am not sure how fast they were moving, but by comparison to similar loads I would say they should have been moving @ 1600 fps . I prefered the Hodgdon 110 to the Alliant 2400. Simply because of a cleaner barrel after each shot, although with 24.5 gr there was slight muzzle flash :) . The Alliant 2400 had no muzzle flash but continually left alot of residue in the barrel. The Berry's Preffered Plated bullets had similar results although the first two I fired were 2-3 foot off. Don't rightly know what happened there. May have been my fault but I have never had that happen before, and I had a good rest which showed as the remainder of the 24 rounds I shot grouped 2.5" at 56 yrds. I couldn't believe the difference in recoil for the 240gr and 200gr bullets though. I certainly like the crisper and shorter recoil of the Laser cast loads than that of the Plated 240gr bullets which by the way I only used 22gr of H110. Hope this Info might have helped someone else. Oh seating length was 1.5885 for all loads. Now that I have a beginning I will continue to experiment with seating depths and such. If anyone has a favorite they use for their 10 1/2 bbl let me know...

When using H110 it's best to use a magnum primer. If you are just using the CCI 300 primer then that's why you are seeing the muzzle flash. I use both H110 and 2400 in my Anaconda, but I usually use my cast 300 grain gas checked LSWC or a Hornady 300 gr. JHP, loaded with 20 gr. of H110 or 18.5 gr. of 2400. The 2400 I use with the cast bullets.
