:o anybody ever try it? i'm loving it. recoil is reduced enough to allow me to use a riflescope on the 14" contender. shoots pretty accurate also. it or ME, seems to open up a little after 5 shots though. i have had a couple 3 shot groups really tight,(1/2" neighbohood) at 100. put several across the chronograph today that averaged 3180fps. sd handgunner gets credit for the load. he's a great feller. i started at 13.0gr and work CAREFULLY to 13.5gr of BLUE DOT. 40gr nosler bt, win. brass, cci br-4 primer. pressure builds rapidly with this powder, i'm told. so be careful. it is fine in my barrel, but all are different. it was 93 degrees today, when i checked and it was still ok in my barrel.

Using a 42 grain bullet you should get 1,165fps with 4 grains

I used a lot of bluedot loads in my 14" contender. They work great. I didn't even bother shooting full power loads in it anymore. I used a 50gr SP @ 2550fps and it was a great all around varminting load for teh 14" contender. I also used the bluedot in a 18" 222 with a 45gr SP Starting at 5.0gr @ 1300fps-11.5gr@2500fps. I normally used 10gr@ 2000fps for an all around inside the barn/around livestock load.

I use it for reduced loads also. It's alot cleaner than AA 5744.

I had to fireform some cases last night, so I thought Id try out a few. Wow, what fun. I know have a 22lr, 22mag, 22 hornet and 223 rem all in one barrel, and all I need to do is change charge weights. Thanks for the heads up guys-Mike.
