How do you remove the rear sight on a M98? <_<

This is from ATI's website on installing their stocks.
"STEP #4 Remove Rear Sight
Example ( A ): Drive out retaining pin, then push the front of the sight downward and pull rearward to remove sight.
Example ( B ): Drive out retaining pin, then use small punch and tap the spring toward the front sight. Then lift out rear sight.
Note: These are only two examples for rear sight removal."
