rock 1911

hey all, any thoughts or comments on rock island 1911 full size , I was thinking of adding a 1911 type pistol to my collection, but wanted to start with the basic and inexpensive first. thanks dave

I have examined one and did not care for the quality and finish. The price difference between that and a used colt or springfield armory would not be great.

I would go with the colt. You can get them new for less than 600. I have heard from SA long gun owners that SA has quality issues with their long guns and I would be concerned that this carries over to the hand guns. I have no experience with the RIs.

thanks guys for your comments. had a chance to borrow a buddies springfield mil spec, loved it. about $100 more than rock, but it shot great and comes with great warranty.
