mtnwatcher,

Nice lookin' shootin' iron ya got there! I like the barrel shroud. What brand? I've looked at the Eagle barrel shroud, but wasn't real comfortable with the set screw attachment method. Have you fired alot of rounds with it attached? Any problems with it coming loose?

I was able to download the pics and then look at 'em with another viewer, but when I just tried to open them in Internet Explorer, I got some kinda "access denied" error. :(

The barrel shroud you have what is it doing for you? I still am not sure whether to put a shroud on my Mini or shorten the barrel, so I need to find out how it 's working.

Gentlemen,

it's an eagle. i believe that it dissipates some of the heat. no miracles that i can see but then i haven't fired the mini with it off after i did what it took to get my groups tighter. hey, that sounds like an excuse to do some shooting.

i actually got it cuz it was on sale at the range where i was taking my ccw class. i was desperately trying to find a way to get my mini to shoot better and thought i'd give it a try. haven't taken it off since last year.

i did use loctite's ''guntite'' product when i tighten the 6 screw down and haven't had a problem at all with loosening.

i had an idea the other day to make a bushing to go inside the shroud, around the barrel to see if i could create a harmonic stabilizer like clark's.
that would also eliminate the screws.

i put it on backwards and took off the sling loop they provide. i don't like the idea of the sling pulling on the barrel, and it was too noisy to leave on.

I think the pictures aren't showing up like normal 'cus they are bmp's, not jpg's.

If you want to make it a little more hi speed low drag. Think about putting a front hand grip on it. I did and love how the rilfe handles. All ya have to do is pick up a rail, grip and hardwear. The Choate stock you have has plenty of room under the stock liner to put the hard wear in. All ya do is make the holes, drill them and the put the rail on. Place the liner back in and off you go. I did mine in about 10 min. And I'm not Tim the tool man. Just an idea.

here's the other pic.

i appreciate the tip, Camera man, but i think i'll put a foregrip on a shotgun for home defense. i prefer the forestock open. besides all that space under the slide guide is filled with bedding material.

i line up the ring on the front site to be inside the ring from the back and put the blade on what i wanna shoot. but like i said before, i haven't been doing a lot of iron sight shooting while i've been accurizing the thing.
