It is very catching. I have 2 contender frames and 4 barrels. I have had more at times, I start getting the fever for a different one and sell or trade others to get them.

Sixgun got me started shooting and hunting with contenders.

My favorite barrel is one from E.A. Brown a 6.5 US. It is basically a 30-30 case necked down and trimmed. I think this one has found a permanent home. I plan to take it with me on a hunt in Wyoming this fall. I am trying to decide if I'm going to leave the Baush and lomb elite 3000, 2-6x, on it or put my 3-12 burris on for the hunt. I have never been out west , so any advise would be appreciated.:2guns:

Steve, leave the 3200 on it, thats a fine enough scope fer most anything you'll need out here...... The field of view is great, the optics are clear and unless you're shootin' 350 yards that 2X6 will be just fine.....

Ive never found a Burris pistol scope that I liked the parellax on anyway..... Not that they don't make some fine scopes, mind you..

What are ya gonna be huntin??

Steve, I dunno about a 6.5 US.....Never seen or shot one, but it sounds like it might be pretty entertaining.... a little smaller caliber than the 7-30 Waters.......

The 7-30 is a good round fer mulies and I suspect that it would do just fine in 6.5.....And 6.5 would be fine for proghorns too.....

Now you've got me thinking about calling Eben.......

I have chronographed my 6.5 US and equals the 6.5 JDJ with more readily available brass. I think it is a keeper. Can't wait for the hay to be mowed and try it on whistle pigs.
