Just a heads up to CA residents.

Given the massive budget shortfall that Gov. Davis & the rest of the democrats have managed to get this state into, the time is ripe for a bevy of new tax bills pending that we need to beware of.

From the website:
http://www.caltax.org/tthreats/leglist.asp

I ran across the following proposed tax bills which would directly concern CA members of this forum

AB 0050 (Koretz) - Rifle Registration Tax of $25
AB 0602 (Koretz) - New Bullet Tax: 10 Cents a Bullet.
AB 0992 (Ridley-Thomas) - Ammo Tax: 10 cents per Bullet.
SB 0035 (Scott) - New Firearms Fee: $1 per Transfer.

Full text of the bills can be looked up at this site:
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/bilinfo.html

Hopefully someone will vote these bums out of office someday.

Note that the ammo tax bills are defined as "fees" instead of taxes so they only require simple majority to pass rather than the 2/3 majority for "tax" bills. They will also apply to reloading supplies as well. Thats $100 per 1000 rounds! There are also several bills that call for sales tax on all online transactions which would affect alot of us who order ammo & other stuff in bulk online. Its an interesting read. Seems to also be alot of tax bills on alcohol & tobacco as well. Guess its easy to propose taxes on stuff that isn't politically correct.

Of the bills not specifically related to firearms this one seemed pretty scary.
AB 0585 - [creation of] Elite Tax Enforcement Unit at FTB.
Its also scary how many times taxes of "unspecified" amounts are proposed.

Guess its time to write our elected represenatives again.

All this will do is TOTALLY ruin the gun dealers in CA....and make you drive to AZ or NV to buy your AMMO! It's just said!

That would be the ultimate Kali plan. In just one generation there will be no legally owned "assault weapons" in Kali, as they cannot be passed down the family line, but turned into police for immediate destruction.
And I am sure they would make importing ammo from another state a felony.
